Teach Seniors Technology is a non-profit organization registered with the Secretary of State of California and is 501(c)3 certified. TST was founded in 2013 and seeks to educate seniors about technology through teaching them about social networking, surfing the web, and operating the basics of computers. Seniors will learn how to operate and understand computers through a one-one-one teaching style. For many older adults, it is valuable to learn how to use new technology, especially if they want to stay relevant, current, and connected in this technologically savvy world. Teaching seniors about technology allows seniors to keep in touch with younger generations who are almost always texting, tweeting, snap chatting, instagramming, or posting pictures on Facebook. Thus, our program bridges the generational gap and provides seniors an opportunity to qualitatively enhance their life in their later years.
This program is intended for Seniors but it open to all. Bring your own technology to learn how to operate their basic programs and library applications, or borrow a library laptop and learn about them in general.
Free. Walk-ins only. 1-3 volunteers will be available for up to 3 hours. Each session length will depend on individual topics or issues. If a line forms, a single topic learned will end a session to welcome a new patron.
