The West Valley Branch Library invites children and teens ages 9-14 to register for this 6-session, online course designed to help prepare participants for the AMC 8. The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute, multiple choice examination in middle school mathematics. It provides an opportunity for middle school students to demonstrate excellence in math. In this program, participants will experience a low-stress, friendly environment where they will be given problem-solving challenges to help them develop the skills they need to excel on the AMC 8.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a virtual program that will meet online using Zoom on six consecutive Tuesdays from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM starting on June 23 and ending on July 28. Zoom is a web conferencing platform. In order to join the program using Zoom, participants must have access to a computer, tablet, or smart phone with an internet connection. Instructions to join the Zoom meeting will be emailed to all registered participants prior to the first session (when registering, please make sure to correctly enter your email address). Find out more about Zoom here.
Pre-registration is required. Participants should not register unless they are able to attend ALL six sessions (sessions will not be recorded so live participation is required to learn the material). Registered participants who miss the first session may lose their spot in the program.
This program is brought to the library by KoreKloud.
