Clay Workshops with Virtual Children’s Discovery Museum

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM

This program was paid for with the generous support of the Friends of the Willow Glen Library

Ages 6-10 are welcome to join us for a multi-session clay experience exploring clay as a creative material and learn how to make basic forms.

Participants must sign up for all three sessions (4/13, 4/14, and 4/15 at 12 PM), and then pick-up supplies at the Willow Glen Branch Library.
Supplies for registered participants (clay and basic tools) will be available for pick-up at the Willow Glen Branch Library 4/9, 4/10, 4/12, and 4/13 during Express Pick-Up hours 1-6 PM. Water will not be supplied, but needed for this program.

Session 1: What is clay? Explore it with water, let it dry out, roll it, pound it. Learn about how to care for your clay and set up a clay friendly workspace. Make a pinch pot, create a coil.

Session 2: Project 1: Turn the simple form of a pinch pot into an artistic bowl!

Session 3: Project 2: By using the simple coil method, learn how to create a vase or vessel from your imagination.

Registration is required to receive a link and password. Deadline to sign-up will be 1 hour before the program begins.

Links and passwords will be emailed at least 30 minutes before the program. The virtual room will open 3 minutes before the program begins. We do recommend everyone "arrive" at least 10 minutes before the program to ensure you are able to enter the "room".
If you do not receive an email with the program link at least 30 minutes before the program begins, please check your spam and other folders. If still unable to find it, please use the Chat to ask a team member for help.
