Virtual Mental Health Support Space for AAPI English/Tagalog Speakers

3:30 PM – 4:30 PM

Description

In response to recent acts of violence against Asians, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in our community,

The San Jose Public Library in partnership with County of Santa Clara Behavioral Health Services Department Cultural Communities Wellness Program will now be offering an online support group series for the Month of May.

Since May is Mental Health Month and AAPI Heritage Month, it's a perfect opportunity for us to offer mental health support to members of the AAPI community. This free virtual weekly group support series will take place in a safe space where healing, education, and support are provided. Learn different techniques on how to take care of yourself, new skills, and tools to add into your wellness toolbox as we continue to live in a society where we have to navigate around the pandemic and AAPI hate crimes.

Free. Registration is required to receive a link and password. Registration will close 1 hour before the program begins.

This meeting will be held online via Zoom. Please register and a link and password will be sent to you in advance of the event. To protect participants' privacy, this meeting will not be recorded, and participants will have the option to rename themselves for the meeting. Learn more about Zoom at zoom.us.

Links and passwords will be emailed at least 30 minutes before the program. You will be placed in a waiting room until the program is ready to begin. We do recommend everyone "arrive" at least 10 minutes before the program begins to ensure you are able to get into the "room".

If you do not receive an email with the program link at least 30 minutes before the program begins, please check your spam and other folders. If still unable to find it, please use the Chat to ask a team member for help.

For those under 18 years of age who may be joining us, we recommend that a parent/legal guardian be with you during the meeting

*Reminder - Those not on the Guest List will not be considered registered, and will not receive a virtual "ticket". Registration accepted on a first come first serve basis.
