“Day of the Dead Sugar Skulls” is a hands-on S.T.E.A.M. workshop (for children ages 5 to 12) presented by Science Smart Kids Inc. (Camp Captivate). Children will paint a Day of the Dead sugar skull in the Mexican tradition of Dia De los Muertos. Explore the connection of the Day of the Dead (All Saints and All Souls Day) with the annual migration of the Monarch butterflies, which were thought to be the spirits of the beloved deceased relatives. Younger participants must be accompanied by a participating parent/caregiver.
First 40 participants to arrive will be admitted.
All attendees will be required to observe the library's Safety Guidelines.
