All Day

Description

***Please be aware that a waitlist has been started. Individuals signing up after 5/17/2023 will be contacted in early June about whether they can be admitted into the program.***

The WeThrive High School Entrepreneur Summer Camp is for incoming Fall High School Freshmen through Seniors who are interested in learning what it takes to create a small business. Registered youth in the WeThrive Summer Camp will group up, look at a problem that faces their community, create a business model and plan to solve that problem, purchase supplies, create their product or service, then promote and sell their product or service at a Demo and PopUp Market Day.

WeThrive utilizes a web and app-based learning management system to walk teens through lessons and guides to help them understand the ins and outs of a small business. Business groups in this camp will also receive direct feedback from an adult small business owner during a virtual office hour.

Groups will receive $50 in seed funding to purchase supplies for their product or service they hope to sell to their community. All revenue created from the PopUp Market at the end of the camp will be split among the group to keep.

Due to the group nature of this camp, attendance is required. This camp will be hybrid, with a mix of virtual and in-person attendance days. Camp days are Tuesdays (Virtual) and Thursdays (In-Person, at the King Library, downtown,) from 4:30-6:00PM each day, with extra scheduled days for Virtual Office Hour business presentation, the Demo Day, and PopUp Market Day.

More information on the structure, curriculum, schedule, and required days can be found on our blog post. Recordings of two information session can also be viewed on the blog post.

Registration will open on Saturday, April 1st at 5:00PM. Registration will close on Thursday, June 9th at 5:00PM. If a waitlist is needed, it will be created from the registration form.
