Incoming high school students, looking to end the 2024 summer with a little extra money in your pocket? Become a small business owner through the 2024 Summer WeThrive High School Entrepreneur Camp.
Teens will start out the summer by setting up their business, with hands-on lessons provided by the WeThrive online app. Teens will be responsible for completing lessons and working on their business outside of camp days. Teens will creating a business model, a plan to solve a community problem and/or sell their creative works, purchase supplies, then create a marketing plan. The second part will be creating their product or service, and selling at a Pop-Up Market, where they can take home earnings. Each business formed will be given up to $75 in seed funding provided by WeThrive and the San José Public Library Foundation.
Teens will have access to the TeenHQ MakerSpace to work on creating their product or service during the second half of the camp in July.
June dates and the July 20th Pop-Up Market date are considered mandatory for attendance. July Tuesday and Thursday dates are optional but encouraged for time to work on product or service creation and checking in with the librarian.
