Description

Do you want to showcase your programming skills? Do you want to compete for prizes while gaining valuable teamwork skills? Join us for the ManeFrame Hackathon 2024 hosted by the SJSU University Library and the San José Public Library!

This exciting event is open to middle and high school students
eager to collaborate on coding projects and connect with like-minded peers. You'll even have the chance to hear from industry experts and university students on the future of artificial intelligence and pursuing a career in tech. Compete for prizes and take advantage of this unique opportunity to grow and learn.

The challenge for the Hackathon is: 

Artificial Intelligence for Social Good Create an AI-based program targeted at a global issue, such as climate change, poverty, education, or health. This prompt is meant to be loose, giving you and your team as much creative freedom as possible. 

Important information:

  • Lunch will be provided. 
  • Please bring your own laptop or tablet and its charger.
  • Teams of 3-5 teens are recommended, but a team is not require to participate. 
    • There will be a team mixer during the event for people who want to team up.
  • Compete for team prizes for:
    • Best Overall AI Project
    • Best Use of AI for Social Good
    • Best Middle School Project
    • Audience Choice Award
