Master Gardeners Talk : Container Gardening Basics

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Willow Glen

Description

Join a Santa Clara County Master Gardener for a monthly talk on various topics. Our January talk is all about Container Gardening:

Would you love to grow sun loving vegetables or flowers, but you don’t have enough sun in your yard? Do you live in an apartment and don’t have any ground to plant in? Would you like to walk out your back door and pick something amazing to eat? Then gardening in containers is for you!

Container gardening can be a method of gardening for those who may not be able to have a traditional garden in the ground. It provides for a flexible planting site, freedom from poor soil, and the ability to move plants around with the seasons.

We'll discuss some requirements that are unique to container gardening. Our intent is to highlight those that are most important so that you may be successful with your container garden.

Come learn all about successfully growing plants in containers. You’ll learn what containers to use, and the requirements for soil, fertilizer and water to keep your container garden growing all season!

Other upcoming topics are:

  • February 15, 2025 - Fruit Tree Selection and Care
  • March 8, 2025 - Growing a Shade Garden / Ferns
  • April 19, 2025 - Planning and Planting a Summer Garden Vegetable Garden
