Monthly STEM Workshop

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Cambrian

Description

Join us for our monthly STEM Workshop presented by teen volunteers in Girls Empowered in Math and Science (GEMS)! This one-hour workshop includes a brief presentation explaining the concepts involved in the activities.  Each month will have different activities.

For February, GEMS invites you to kick off this new year with a forensic science themed workshop! Participants will engage in the curious sciences of crime and mystery, beginning with an invisible ink activity. Next, students will learn to create and analyze fingerprints, and this month’s workshop will conclude with a clue-based collaborative scavenger hunt for a sweet treat. Join us on January 26 from 1 to 2 pm at Cambrian Branch Library to participate in Curious Crimes: A Forensic Science Workshop for Kids. Take caution, the chalk outline of this lab spells out fun!

Free. No registration required. Recommended for elementary school students. Presented by teen volunteers in Girls Empowered in Math and Science (GEMS).
