Events › Virtual AND In-Person ESL Class: Pearson's Side by Side, UNITS 4 and 5

We invite you to take part in our English classes with East San José Carnegie Branch Library!

Our class will begin on Friday, October 17 to meet in person and answer questions about the class series and format. If you are new to using Zoom, we can show you how to get started on your phone or computer.

A new lesson will be presented on Zoom every Wednesday starting on October 22nd from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Then, every Friday, we will meet in person in the Community Room of East San Jose Carnegie Branch Library from 2:05 to 3:30 p.m. to practice the new vocabulary and grammar using fun, educational games and activities. We will also include some brief introductions to American fall holidays and some special fall conversation starters.

The goals will be (1) to gain confidence in speaking aloud what you are learning and (2) to improve your listening skills and reading comprehension. 

• Unit 4 focuses on: giving short answers using familiar verbs and Possessive adjectives (my, his, her, its, our, your, their). 
• Unit 5 introduces vocabulary and grammar used to describe people and things and to talk about the weather. 

Days and times of classes: 

• Virtual Class Days - Wednesdays from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.: October 22nd, 29th; November 5th, 12th, 19th; December 3rd and 10th
• In-person Class Days - Fridays from 2:05 to 3:30 p.m.: October 17th, 24th, 31st; November 7th, 14th, 21st; December 5th and 12th.
