VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) volunteers @ Seven Trees Branch Library offer free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns, including:
- People who generally make $69,000 or less.
- Persons with disabilities.
- Limited English speaking taxpayers.
What to Bring:
- Government Issued Photo ID for each taxpayer.
- Social Security card (not a picture of it) or Individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN) for each family member or person named on the tax return, including dependents.
- Income documents such as Forms W-2, 1099, K-1, or any other tax forms you received.
- If you had self-employment income, bring documentation of all income and expenses, including mileage if appropriate.
- For students: Form 1098-T and be able to log in and show us your student account statement from the school.
- Form 1098 for tuition, mortgage interest, property tax, etc.
- Forms 1095-A, B, C for health insurance coverage, such as Covered CA or MediCal.
- A copy of last year's federal and state tax return, if available.
- Bank account number and routing number for direct deposit or direct debit.
- If married and filing a joint return, both spouses must be present.
No Registration. Walk-in only. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED. Limited slots available.
No appointments or sign-ups in
advance. Program will take place upstairs in the Quiet Study Room, in the back, right corner of the library.
