Teen Boot Camp: Hands-On Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning Applications Using Python

Description

SJSU University Library and San José Public Library are hosting Hands-On AI/ML Applications Using Python led by Anish Roy and Dr. Navrati Saxena. This 16 hour boot camp is designed for middle and high school students, with a special focus on supporting underrepresented groups in tech.

Content areas include Al/ML foundational concepts, data handling and preprocessing, core ML models, visualization, introduction to deep learning models, and  real-world applications.

The program concludes with a showcase where participants present their team projects and compete for awards in innovation, teamwork, and presentation skills. 

The schedule is planned as follows:

  • Friday, 3/27: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Saturday, 3/28: 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
  • Sunday, 3/29: 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Monday, 3/30: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday, 4/1: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Showcase)

Important Information:

  • Please bring your own laptop or Chromebook and charger. Request to borrow a device if needed.
  • Students will need a Google (Gmail) account to access Google Collab and Google Classroom. No additional websites or software are needed.
  • All participants will receive certificates of completion, and top teams will be recognized with special awards.
  • Snacks will be provided.
