Code an interactive ping pong game using block-based coding in Scratch! While following step-by-step instructions, kids will learn the logic behind their code and explore key topics such as sprites, loops, and variables.
Scratch is a visual programming language that allows students to create their own interactive stories, games, and animations. As students design Scratch projects, they learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively. Students will create a clicker game using colorful blocks of instructions.
This class is ideal for children in 2nd grade and above. Please bring your own laptop if able; we have a limited number of Chromebooks that can be borrowed for the program on a first-come, first-served basis.
Age: 6-12 years old (2nd Grade and up).
Free. Registration is required. Limited to 20 participants.
Software: No software is required to download, but a Scratch account should be set up prior to attending and parents should plan to stay for the first 10-15 minutes until their child is successfully logged in. If you have a laptop or tablet, please bring it. Otherwise, we have a limited number of Chromebooks to borrow.
