AAPI Heritage Month Paint Session

4:00 PM – 5:00 PM
West Valley

Description

Join AACI YTI for a Paint Session in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month. We will celebrate the famous AAPI artist Tyrus Wong by recreating one of his paintings that served as inspiration for the film Bambi at Walt Disney Productions, which he was a background illustrator for. His background paintings for Bambi were inspired by Song dynasty classical Chinese paintings. Students will learn about this inspiring bit of history, plus learn basic watercolor painting techniques to create a painting they can be proud of and display at home!

All materials will be provided for up to 20 participating youth. Intended for ages 8-17 with their parents/caregivers.

Free. Online registration is required. (Parents/caregivers do not need to register to attend.) You can register up to 4 youth under one name. If there is space, we can admit walk-ins on a first-come, first-serve basis.
