Curious about how science and technology can change the world? Students ages 10-13 are welcome to join STEM 4 Change for fun, hands-on workshops where you’ll play games, solve challenges, and explore exciting topics like renewable energy and robotics—all while discovering how STEM can make a difference! STEM 4 Change is offering 3 workshops this April. Students interested in attending one or more of these workshops, should register for each workshop separately.

On April 11 join us for “The Physics Behind the Strongest Structures:”

Students will explore the fundamentals of structural engineering by designing and testing paper bridges to understand how shape and geometry influence strength and load distribution. Through a hands-on civil engineering-based challenge, they will discover how folds, triangles, and structural designs dramatically increase a bridge’s ability to support weight.

STEM 4 Change is a student-driven initiative dedicated to harnessing the power of STEM to foster creativity, social equity, and global impact.

All materials will be provided.

Los estudiantes explorarán los fundamentos de la ingeniería estructural diseñando y probando puentes de papel para comprender cómo la forma y la geometría influyen en la resistencia y la distribución del peso. A través de un desafío práctico inspirado en la ingeniería civil, descubrirán cómo los pliegues, los triángulos y diferentes diseños estructurales pueden aumentar significativamente la capacidad de un puente para soportar peso.

STEM 4 Change es una iniciativa dirigida por estudiantes dedicada a aprovechar el poder de STEM para fomentar la creatividad, la equidad social y el impacto global.
