Join this engaging 6-week ESL program designed for intermediate adult learners who want to improve their speaking, reading fluency, and self-expression in English.
Our program instructor, Wendy, will have learners practice speaking in a supportive environment using proven fluency techniques like group reading, partner practice, and guided presentations.
Program Goals:
Program will start online Thursday, May 7th from 2:00-3:00 PM and the last day will be an in-person celebration on Thursday, June 11th from 2:00-3:00 PM.
Weekly Timeline:
Week 1: Foundations of Silicon Valley Fluency Day 1 – Listening Practice (Instructor models fluent reading through read-aloud)
Week 2: Timeline of Technology and Innovation Fluency Day 2 – Choral Reading (Group reading to build rhythm and confidence)
Week 3: Local Stories Fluency Day 3 – Partner Reading (Paired practice and rehearsal)
Week 4: Future Vision, Dreams, and Hopes Fluency Day 4 – Presentation Prep (Learners record their final presentation)
Week 5: Presentations Fluency Day 5 – Presenting to an Audience (Live or pre-recorded)
Week 6: In-Person Celebration Fluency Day 6 – Community Gathering (Creative voice activity, sharing library and community resources, and certificate distribution)
