If Ridley Jones had slept ten minutes later or had taken the subway instead of waiting for a cab, she would still be living the beautiful lie she used to call her life. She would still be the privileged daughter of a doting father and a loving mother. Her life would still be perfect--with only tiny cracks to mar the otherwise flawless whole. But that's not what happened. Instead, those inconsequential decisions lead her to perform a good deed that puts her in the right place at the right time to unleash a chain of events that brings a mysterious package to her door--a package which informs her that her entire world is a lie. Suddenly forced to question everything she knows about herself and her family, she has no idea who's on her side and who has something to hide--even, and maybe especially, her new lover.--From publisher description.

Ridley Jones is one crazy lady! This book is a must read. I loved reading how she told the story. It was the perfect blending of a writers perspective and hindsight. Throughout the whole book I was aching to know what she knew. Suspense is my favorite to read and I definitely was please with this suspense novel!

Almost in every page of this book there is a desire to scream "Stop it. We already know how difficult is for you - the revealing about your real origin!"

The author develops the characters extremely well. The plot is fast paced!
Enjoyed the author's reflections on different aspects of life.

I liked this book and its characters. It is worth sticking with. If you do you will find out the protagonist's "attractive, fit, nice, and wealthy boyfriend" is not all he appears to be. Also the love interest is a good guy and it is worth looking beyond tattoos and biceps (and why should that matter?). This is my 2nd book by Unger and I liked it much better than Die For You. The ending might leave a little to be desired but I felt it was realistic if not all wrapped up neatly.

Good book with lots of twists and turns. The narrator and the reader have no idea who to trust. There is plenty of unanswered questions at the end, so be prepared to also read Sliver of Truth, the second Ridley Jones book. I really enjoyed these books and read the two of them in four days.
