Future Shock was a bit of a disappointment. The characters never really came to life for me. The story hooked me early, but the selfishness of the characters failed to intrigue me. Elena is an orphan looking for away to save her foster sister from the existence she has had most of her life, but doesn't have the money to pull it off until the Aether Corporation offers to give her a great deal of money if she will agree to go into the future and bring back any technological discoveries that have been made in the intervening years. Elana embraces the opportunity even though she doesn't like the others going with her except for Adam, with whom she immediately feels a connection. None of the characters trust each other, and even though their reasons for accepting Aether's offer seem genuine and unselfish, they still have their own agendas for making the trip that don't include helping each other. Besides Adam and Elena, there is no real connection between the characters and very little emotion to keep them tied later in the story. The story's premise was good enough to carry the book, but the characters are what drive a story forward, and it just seemed like they never really got moving.

What if you had the opportunity of a lifetime— taking a trip to the future. Would you go? Elena Martinez is presented with this very same choice. She decides to go because she is struggling to find a job, and Aether Cooperation (the company who is operating this experiment) is offering a ton of cash in return. She gets sent to the future with four other people, however, things go wrong and they are sent 30 years into the future instead of 10. In the future, they discover to 4 out of the 5 are dead, including Elena herself. Now, they have try to figure out who the murder is!
I would rate this book 4-5 stars because there are really well developed characters. Each character has their own unique personality and “special trait” that is supposed to help aid their mission. They only have 24 hours before they travel back to the past, so this novel is quick paced and there is never a part that feels bored or feels like it drags out for too long. This novel is very captivating, full of action. There were many suspense and cliffhangers that made me want to continue and want to read more. If you enjoy reading sci-fi, or mystery books, then you should read future shock.

This book has absolutely blown my mind away. The author has a really creative my mind, and personality to come up with such mind blowing twists that you would never expect. I finished this book in two days, I could never let it down. Its in amazing story a little romance but I think its enough romance and it was grate for me. Its just absolutely amazing I 100% recommend it if your into romance and adventure.

Disappointing for me. Highly rated on Amazon though. Good subject matter: foster kids, time travel, a little romance and a lot of mystery. Starts of at good pace with adventure around the cornor. The when they actually go into the future it bogs down in obvious information. Oh no! Who's going to try to hurt us?! Its so obvious, its painful. There weren't any more twists that weren't highly predictable after that point. I felt cheated out of a mystery.
