Sophie wants one thing for Christmas-a little freedom from her overprotective parents. So when they decide to spend Christmas in South Louisiana with her very pregnant older sister, Sophie is looking forward to some much needed private (read: make-out) time with her long-term boyfriend, Griffin. Except it turns out that Griffin wants a little freedom from their relationship. Cue devastation. Heartbroken, Sophie flees to her grandparents' house, where the rest of her boisterous extended family is gathered for the holiday. That's when her nonna devises a (not so) brilliant plan: Over the next ten days, Sophie will be set up on ten different blind dates by different family members. Like her sweet cousin Sara, who sets her up with a hot guy at an exclusive underground party. Or her crazy aunt Patrice, who signs Sophie up for a lead role in a living nativity. With a boy who barely reaches her shoulder. And a screaming baby. When Griffin turns up unexpectedly and begs for a second chance, Sophie feels more confused than ever. Because maybe, just maybe, she's started to have feelings for someone else . . . Someone who is definitely not available. This is going to be the worst Christmas break ever... or is it?

Sophie can't wait for the holidays. After much begging and pleading, her parents have let her go up to her grandmother's house for Christmas to visit her humongous extended family - alone - while they visit her pregnant sister. This means, she has more than enough chances to sneak away to spend time with her boyfriend. However, after overhearing Griffin complain about their relationship to a friend, Sophie is heartbroken and runs away to her grandmother's house to get away from the drama.
It is then that her grandmother devises a genius plan - for each of the 10 days of holiday break, a different member of Sophie's (rather large) extended family will pick one boy to go on a blind date with her, in an attempt to help her get over her broken heart. Between reconnecting with lost cousins, dealing with a regretful boyfriend, and battling newfound feelings for someone she least expected, Sophie has a lot on her plate. But she knows that during Christmas, with her family by her side, anything is possible.
I can honestly say that this has to be one of my favorite YA romance books, especially for the holiday season. If you're looking for a light-hearted, cliche book centered on magical romance and family bonds, this is the book for you. Yes, it is cheesy at times, but overall, it has a very uplifting atmosphere and adorable characters. Although the writer does break a fundamental rule of writing (not to over-stuff the book with characters), it was a lot of fun getting to know the members of Sophie's very-large extended family, even if I found myself wishing for a family tree by the end. Overall, it is a wonderful book to keep in your personal collection and read every Christmas if you're looking for a cheesy holiday romance with fun characters and the magic of family.

I loved this book! It has a light storyline and it's full of hilarious situations. Sophie is a well developed character and is someone I rooted for throughout the book. I wish there was a sequel to this! Totally worth the read!
